Hi! My name is Kate, and this is my medical blog! I am 19 and from Charlotte, NC. I will be attending UNC Chapel Hill in the Class of 2027. I have MALS, SMAS, NCS, and MTS. I wanted to share my journey with these conditions over the past few years. I have found other medical blogs and social media accounts so helpful and inspiring during my battle, and I wanted to create a similar resource for others and to raise awareness for my conditions.

Sweet Catalina, many of us are only now finding out about what you’ve had to deal with — and you couldn’t have chosen a better name for your blog. COURAGE in all caps says everything we aready know about you, and you can add a boatload of other adjectives — all of which fall under the category of “wonderful” — to the list. Please know that you are wrapped in love from everyone at Country Day and that we’ll all be watching to see you knock the socks off the crowd in Tarheel territory. (OK, I’ll say not a word about the Blue Devils. Oops! I did it again…) Hugs to your wonderful family and especially to your grandmother Leslie.
